Volleyball Falls to Lipscomb in Home Finale Despite Moro’s Career Night

Moro Tallies 38 Digs, Cestero With 25 Kills

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Freshman Rocio Moro posted the most digs by a UNF player in over 13 years and Solimar Cestero broke out for 25 kills but visiting Lipscomb (14-12, 10-5 ASUN) won the Ospreys' (14-17, 6-9 ASUN) home finale, 3-1, Friday, Nov. 15.

Moro notched 38 digs, setting a career high and tying Traci Till's total Nov. 13, 1999. Tara Taylor (Sunquist) possesses the single-match record with 42 against Murray State Sept. 2, 2006.

Despite the loss UNF clinches the number-six seed in the ASUN Championship thanks to Kennesaw State's win against Jacksonville Friday night. Stetson defeated North Alabama, 3-1, to secure the five seed.

"I'm proud of my team. They really fought and we had people stepping up and fighting through adversity, but we had a few unforced errors," head coach Kristen Wright said. "In the third set we had 20 kills against a very good defensive team and we made them do some things they're not used to doing. But, in the fourth set they [Lipscomb] went off."
