FORT MYERS, Fla. - The UNF women's tennis team saw continued success on the second day of the Bedford Cup.
Lucia Montano defeated FIU's Kamila Umarova over three sets to head to the Singles Flight A Semifinals Sunday. In the Singles Flight B Consolation bracket,
Valentina Mariotto swept her first opponent in the Quarterfinals 6-4, 6-2 and her second opponent in the Semifinals 6-2, 7-5.
Ana Paula Melilo and partner Montano picked up wins in the Doubles Flight A Quarterfinals and Semifinals. Melilo and Montano blanked a pair from USF, 6-0, in the Quarterifinals and swept their second opponent from FAU 6-2.
Sunday's schedule starts with the Doubles Flight A Finals at 9 a.m. where Melilo and Montano will take on Buzkova and Kimhi of FAU. Mariotto faces off at the same time against FIU's Kristina Miletic in the Flight B Consolation Finals. Sunday morning. Montano will take on UCF's Nandini Sharma at 10:30 a.m. Singles Flight A Finals.
