DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The North Florida baseball team fell to Bethune-Cookman, 8-3, on Wednesday night at Jackie Robinson Ballpark.
LEADING OFF
- Mac Wilson extended his reached base streak to 13-straight games to lead the Ospreys.
- Tanner Murphy extended his hitting streak to six-straight games and leads the team.
- Eight of the nine UNF batters recorded a hit in the game.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Alex Hendricks ripped his first triple of the season to left center field that scored Jay Prather for the first run of the game.
- Later in the first, Chris Berry singled to right field that drove in Alex Hendricks to extend the UNF lead.
- Dalton Board ended the UNF scoring with an infield single that plated Wilson.
- The Wildcats scored their first run of the game on a groundout from Danny Rodriguez.
- BCU pulled within a run when Zach Spivey doubled to the right side bringing in Jameel Edney.
- In the third inning, BCU tied the game on a double from Spivey that scored Rodriguez.
- Bethune captured the lead in the fifth inning on a double from Spivey that plated Rodriguez. Spivey later scored on an error by the Ospreys.
- Later in the fifth, Chase DeBonis doubled to left center driving home Nate Sterijevski.
- The Wildcats ended the scoring in the seventh inning on back-to-back hits and RBIs from Ian Claudio and DeBonis, respectively.
