CLEARWATER, Fla. – North Florida did not need luck on this St. Patrick's Day as the Ospreys came out of the second day of the Clearwater Spring Break Invitational with two wins against Butler and Quinnipiac.

TOP PERFORMERS
- Junior Navia Penrod went 4-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored, while also grabbing two walks.
- Senior Alex Arciola continued her hot weekend with two hits, a walk and two RBIs.
- In the circle, Sydney Matzko and Morgan Blourne combined to fan 17 batters en route to the wins. Both came away from the day with a 0.00 ERA.
- Junior Tiffany Lower smacked the Ospreys' first home run of the year when she sent a ball over the centerfield fence against Quinnipiac.

"Both pitchers threw great games today backed by solid defense. The offense heated up in game two so everything is coming together as we prepare for the start of our conference season. I am really impressed by the consistent effort so far this weekend. We look really confident and comfortable even in tight situations."

GAME 1 CAPSULE
- Matzko kept the Bulldogs' bats quiet as she fanned a career-best 10 batters in the win. She allowed just two batters to reach past second.
- Butler's Alyssa Graves also kept UNF's offense down as she only surrendered three hits, but one turned out the be the game-winner.
- In the eighth inning, with the international tiebreaker rules in effect, Ashley Niesman went to second. She moved to third on a wild pitch before Butler loaded the bases with back-to-back intentional walks.
- With the bases loaded and just one out, Taylor Scott sent a single through the right side to bring Niesman home and win the game, 1-0.
- In the win, Matzko tossed her 14th complete game and sixth shutout of the season.
GAME 2 CAPSULE
- Unlike the first game, North Florida got its bats going early with a two-run first inning. Penrod led off with a single and moved over on a wild pitch before a sac bunt moved her to third.
- Dominica Cocuzza then doubled down the line to plate Penrod and then came around herself on Arciola's double to centerfield.
- In the second, Lower hit her solo shot for the 3-0 lead.
- The Ospreys broke the game open in the fourth, plating six runs on four hits and an error.
- The Bobcats attempted to extend the game in the top of the fifth as they scored on a run on a single to center, but it was short lived as Blourne got the final batter on a flyout.
- Blourne moves to 4-5 on the year as she surrendered just four hits and one walk with seven strikeouts in the win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Ospreys recorded double-figure hits for the sixth time this season against Quinnipiac as they tallied 11.
- UNF had eight RBIs against the Bobcats which is the second most this season.
- North Florida is on a four-game win streak for the second time this season and with one more will have its longest streak since March 14-22, 2017 when it had a nine-game streak.
- Arciola is now on a seven-game reached base streak, while Penrod and Scott have reached safely in five straight.
