TAMPA, Fla. – North Florida dominated its opening game of the day as it took down Buffalo, 9-0 in five innings before falling to host USF, 8-0, in the second game to close up the Clearwater Spring Break Classic weekend.

GAME 1 CAPSULE
- North Florida got on the board in the first when McGory ripped a triple to centerfield to bring in Taylor Scott who reached on a walk.
- The Ospreys then added to their lead on Mary Rodriguez's double plated Tiffany Lower who reached on a single of her own. Rodriguez then came around to score on Penrod's single to shallow right field for the 3-0 lead after two.
- In the fourth, UNF pushed its lead to five as Mackenzie Griffin hit the second triple of the day to score Lower who singled with a bunt nd moved over on a throwing error and then a sac bunt.
- Penrod then hit her second RBI of the day for the five-run advantage.
- Buffalo's best chance came in the top of the fifth when it loaded the bases with one out. Blourne then got the next to batters to foul out and then pop out to end the threat.
- Lower continued her strong day as she slammed her second home run in as many days to bring in two runs as Ashley Niesman hit a double of her own to start the inning to make it 7-0 Ospreys.
- With the bases cleared, Rodriguez singled before moving on a sac bunt.
- Penrod then stepped to the plate and jacked the second home run of the day and her first of the season to run-rule Buffalo, 9-0.
- Blourne tossed her fourth complete game, surrendering just four hits and two walks, while striking out four.
GAME 2 CAPSULE
- The Bulls scattered their eight runs across four innings in the shutout victory.
- North Florida's best chance came in the fourth when the McGory reached on an error before stealing second and third.
- Aricola reached on a walk before moving over on a wild pitch to put two on, but USF got the final batter swinging to end the threat.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Ospreys recorded double-figure hits for the seventh time this season against Buffalo as they hit a season-high 14 including seven of the extra-base variety.
- UNF tied its season-best with nine RBIs vs. Buffalo.
