Box Score TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - North Florida men's tennis was unable to take a point from Georgia State as the Panthers won 4-0 in the third-place match at the Florida State Invitational on Sunday afternoon.
In doubles play,
Till Von Winning and Sahil Deshmukh evened the score in the No. 2 position with a 6-3 win, but the Panthers came back in the No. 3 spot and grabbed the point with the victory.
North Florida was unable to grab a win in singles, but the match was extremely close. In the No. 2 spot, Deshmukh pushed his match to three sets to try to force the match to continue on, but he dropped the final set, 6-3.
Lasse Muscheites dropped his first set and battled back to even the score, while freshman
Nilo Duarte did the same.
North Florida now turns its attention to the ITA Kick-Off Weekend as it faces Tulsa on Saturday, Jan. 27 before taking on Yale or Ohio State depending on the results. The final match is scheduled for Sunday.
