No. 2 Ospreys Play No. 3 NJIT in ASUN Semifinals

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida women's tennis readies for the 2017 ASUN semifinals as the second-seeded Ospreys take on No. 3 NJIT on Saturday at noon.

THE SERIES: UNF leads 2-0
Last Meeting: The Ospreys shut out NJIT in their final home match of the season. UNF took the doubles point with the No. 1 and No. 3 teams getting the 6-1 wins. The Ospreys then went on to win in straight sets at each position in singles.

QUICK HIT
- UNF is in pursuit of their third straight ASUN Tournament title and its third NCAA appearance in as many years.
- In No. 3 doubles, Kinga Gartner and Michelle Valdez are currently on a six-match winning streak going undefeated in conference play to be named to the All-ASUN Doubles Second Team.
- Junior Luise Intert enters the match with seven straight wins under her belt and looks to face a rematch with Alba Rosas Garcia who she took down, 6-3, 6-1 in the regular season.
- North Florida was a No. 2 seed in the 2013 championship and rallied for a win against top-seeded ETSU, 4-2. The Ospreys produced the same result in 2010 as a two-seed.
- This will be the first meeting of NJIT and UNF in the postseason.

OPPONENT NOTES
- All-ASUN first team selection Mayar Eltony clinched NJIT's first-ever victory in the ASUN tournament with her win in the final set in a tiebreaker, 6-4, 1-6, 7-6 (7-5) to beat Kennesaw State, 4-3.
- The Owls captured the doubles point to start off the match, but the Highlanders rebounded with victories at No. 4-6 flights from Nathalie Habegger, Alba Rosas Garcia & Amanda Helminsky.
- NJIT advances to its first-ever ASUN Semifinal.
