GAME CAPSULE
Game 1
  • FGCU took a 3-0 lead after two at bats. In the first, Ashley Swiderski's ground out allowed Natalie Lopez to come around and score. Lopez reached on hit that bounced right off the plate and made it a tough one to get for the Ospreys.

  • With one swing, Cocuzza sent a 1-1 pitch over the left center fence to make it 3-1.
  • The bats stayed quiet through the next three innings before FGCU capitalized on some UNF misplayss.
  • Lopez reached base on an error after an errant throw pulled the force off the bag before two were on with a walk.
  • A successful sac bunt moved the runners before a hit through the left side brought two more runs in to make it a 5-2 game.\
  • North Florida brought the game-tying batter to the plate after Cocuzza reached on a single and Ashley Niesman doubled down the left line for two on.
  • FGCU pitcher Riley Randolph got the next three batters in a row to end the threat and improve to 12-4 on the year.
