North Florida Opens with Stetson at Home

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida women's tennis kicks off ASUN action with Stetson on Saturday.

Last Meeting: The Ospreys closed out their season with a 5-2 victory against Stetson as UNF clinched its fourth regular season title.

QUICK HITS
- UNF is searching for its fourth straight undefeated ASUN season as well as regular season title under first-year head coach Mariana Cobra.
- The Ospreys and Hatters last faced off in Jacksonville in 2015 where the home team edged out a 4-3 win.
- Senior Michelle Valdez is on a three-match win streak in the No. 1 spot, while Quetzali Vazquez and Irina Karangoszhivili have also won two-straight at the No. 3 and 4 spots, respectively.
- King Gartner and Rafaela Gomez each own a team-best eight victories. Gartner's wins have come in the 4-6 spots, while Gomez has primarily played at No. 2 and No. 3.
- As of late, Luise Intert and Vazquez have paired up at the No. 1 doubles position to garner a 6-4 mark.

OPPONENT NOTES
- Stetson is riding a two-match win streak as it begins conference play against FGCU on Thursday. Prior to their two wins, the Hatters had lost four straight.
- Last season the Hatters finished in third place in the ASUN and bowed out in the ASUN Semifinals against FGCU, 4-1.
- In singles play, Lucie Renault leads the team with a 7-5 mark including a 6-3 record in the No. 3 position.
- Arijana Korac has been tabbed with the No. 1 spot where she is 3-5. Korac was second on the team last season with 14 singles victories, seven of which came at the No. 2 position.
- In doubles action, Stetson has struggled to put together a solid lineup, but Renault and Sofie Ferding lead the pairs with a 5-5 record in the No. 2 match.

North Florida continues ASUN play at Kennesaw State and Lipscomb the following week.
