QUICK HITS
  • Sophomore Dominica Cocuzza led the team with six RBI on three swings including a three-run homer against Rutgers.
  • Junior Taylor Aguayo went 5-for-8 on the night with two runs scored. Four of her hits came against Monmouth.
  • Junior Macayla Kelley also went 3-for-6 with three runs scored, while Kayla McGory went 2-for-6 with two walks and three runs scored.

GAME CAPSULE
Game 1
  • Dominica Cucuzza's three-run home run in the third and an RBI double in the fourth proved to be the offense the Ospreys needed as UNF grabbed the win.
  • Rutgers took an early 3-0 lead after two thanks to a few untimely UNF errors.
  • The third saw Jenna Brownell walk before being replaced by Megan Jeffery on the bases. A sac bunt moved her over before Navia Penrod's deep double to left center brought the run around to score.
  • Penrod then scored on a miscue from the Scarlet Knights' short stop that left Macayla Kelley on the bases.
  • Kayla McGory then sent a double to the outfield before both McGory and Kelley came home on Cocuzza's slam over the left field fence to put UNF up 5-3.
  • Penrod hit her second double of the day to bring home Arciola who reached on a hit-by-pitch.
  • Rutgers tried to go ahead in the fifth inning with a two-run homer, but freshman Morgan Blourne came in relief and allowed just two hits for the remainder of the game as UNF held on for the win.
  • Amanda Blanchard earned the win in her 2.1 innings of work, giving up just two hits, one walk and three strikeouts,
Game 2
  • North Florida allowed six runs in the fifth, but quickly got back out in front with a run in the fifth and three in the sixth to secure the win.
  • In the sixth, pinch hitter Ashia Kerr sent a double down the left line to score the game-winning run.
  • The Ospreys got on the board in the third with some heads up base running started off with Aguayo who reached on a single and moved to second on an overthrow to first base.
  • Aguayo and Kelley then switched places as the Alabama native sent a double to left field. McGory then earned a walk, but the final ball hit the dirt and went past the catcher to allowed McGory and Kelley to take second and third, respectively.
  • Cocuzza then sent a two-RBI single down the line to score two more and give UNF the 3-0 advantage.
  • It was a comfortable lead until Monmouth took advantage of some tough infield singles and poking holes in the outfield to make it a 6-3 game in the fifth.
  • In the Ospreys' side of the frame, Kelley led off with a double and came home on Cocuzza's hit to close the gap to 6-4. UNF had more chances, but left three stranded.
  • After getting out of the sixth without issue, UNF once again got the bats going.
  • Aguayo singled to lead off, but Monmouth got the next two batters.
  • Despite two outs, the Ospreys loaded the bases before Casey Estes who sent a single up the middle to score two and tie the game.
  • Kerr then stepped up to hit the game-winning hit and give UNF its sixth-straight victory.
  • Senior Logan Green tossed a complete game despite a relief appearance from Morgan Blourne who faced four batters. The Hebron, Md. native was pulled in the fifth, but came back in with just one out and closed out the frame. She surrendered six hits, four earned runs, while striking out three.

OUTSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Cocuzza and Aguayo are currently on 10-game hit streaks, while Cocuzza has reached base in 13 straight games.
