GAME CAPSULE
First Half Trends
  • The Ospreys kept it close in the early goings, trailing just 11-9 at the first media TO.
  • Both teams then went cold, hitting just one bucket for the remaining of the quarter as FGCU held a slight 13-11 edge.
  • FGCU started the quarter on a 10-5 run to lead 23-16 at the media before Adrienne Jackson hit a trey to end an Osprey scoring drought.
  • North Florida's defense kicked in over the final four minutes as the home team came up empty on six possessions and went without scoring before China Dow ended the stretch with 27 seconds to play and gave FGCU a 26-19 lead at the half.
Second Half Trends
  • After hitting just two treys in the opening 20 minutes, FGCU came out firing in the third with seven including two that sparked a 12-0 run.
  • From there, the Eagles shut down UNF as it took a 55-28 lead after three.
  • FGCU scored 16 points off of eight Osprey turnovers during the third frame.
  • The home team eventually took its lead to 31 in the fourth quarter before back-to-back buckets from Jaiveonna Norris, a 4-for-5 outing at the line and a triple from Ioannidis closed the gap to 69-46 for the final.

SAY WHAT
"We battled and competed in the first half, especially on the defensive end of the floor. For some reason we didn't come out ready to play in the third quarter and they went right at us. We fueled their offense with our turnovers and they were able to open up the game. We have to really dig deep and find a way to be more consistent on both ends of the floor as we get ready for another tough game on Saturday." - Head Coach Darrick Gibbs.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
  • The 26 turnovers are the most since UNF played at No. 7 Florida State when it had 28.
  • Senior Taru Madekivi scored her first points since December 4 on a triple in the third quarter.
  • The Ospreys dished out just six assists - a season-low - with Sierra Shepherd recording three.
  • FGCU outshot UNF 46 percent to 34 percent, while hitting nine triples to the Ospreys seven.
