HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the opening set, the host Eagles jumped out to a quick 7-3 lead and never looked back in the set.
- The Ospreys got it to within a pair at 8-6 , but it was as close as they would get as FGCU responded with an 8-3 run and went on to take the first set, 25-17.
- The teams stayed close in the second set when they knotted it up at 18-all for the 12th tie of the frame.
- The Eagles then closed the set on a 7-2 run to take a 2-0 led.
- In the final stanza, FGCU exploded offensively and jumped out to a 14-5 lead.
- From there it was the home team's match as the Eagles hit a match-best .458 while holding the Ospreys to -.069.
