Volleyball Closes Out Regular Season at Kennesaw, Lipscomb

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida volleyball prepares for its final ASUN regular season series, looking to move up in the standings with wins against Kennesaw State and Lipscomb on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

QUICK HITS 
- Senior Morgan Van Alstine is in ninth place in the UNF season record book with her 122 total blocks. As a junior she made the season record book with 101 block assists and this season places fourth with 107.
- Freshman Gabby O'Connell notched her league record fifth ASUN Freshman of the Week honor since the award's inception in 2013. She is the third most productive freshman in UNF history with 347 kills.
- Junior Katarina Raicevic set a career-high with 17 digs against USC Upstate and narrowly missed a double-double with nine kills.
- Kimberly Ferguson is 4th in active career leaders in the ASUN with 976 digs.
- As a team, UNF has 256.5 blocks to place 28th out of 329 teams in the country.Jacksonville State is first with 349.5.

SERIES
Kennesaw State is 10-7 against the Ospreys and have won four of the last eight meetings. UNF defeated the Owls last season in the second meeting of the teams. The last win at Kennesaw State was in 2014 when UNF battled to a 3-2 victory on the Owls' home court.

Lipscomb is on a seven-game winning streak against the Ospreys. In that time, UNF has taken the match to five sets twice. North Florida last won in Coach Loeswick's first season in Jacksonville.

ON THIS DAY
November 11 - 
North Florida has only played on this date five times in program history. The last time was in 2011 when UNF dropped a 4-2 decision to FGCU.
November 12 - The Ospreys are 9-2 on this date and last played again in 2011 against Stetson and walked away with a 3-1 victory.

NEW ROTATION
North Florida is having some new players added to their serving rotation. Senior Erin Edwards served up an ace for the first time this season against NJIT.

MO' BLOCKS PLEASE
Senior Morgan Van Alstine is 33rd in the nation with 122 total blocks. She is No. 1 in the ASUN and has 30 more than the next player.

QUICK HITS
KENNESAW STATE

- The Owls dropped their second match in five games at FGCU on November 5. 
- Their only conference losses are to the other top teams in the league - Lipscomb and FGCU.
- Anaiah Boyer leads the team with 337 kills and is fourth in the ASUN. 
-Libero Katarina Morton is second in the league with 507 digs and leads her team, while Liesl Englebrecht is the team's threat at the net with 79 total blocks.

LIPSCOMB
-The Bisons are riding an eight-game win streak heading into the match against Jacksonville on Friday. 
- Carlyle Nusbaum is the ASUN leader in kills with 408, while also adding 172 digs and 43 total blocks.
- Kayla Ostrom runs the Bisons offense with 630 assists, but has gotten some help from Morgan Elmore this season. 
- Taylor Racich is a threat on the serve with a team-best 40 aces, while Brittany Thomas is second with 32. Thomas leads the team with 386 digs.


LOOKING AHEAD
UNF awaits its fate in the ASUN Tournament depending on its results this weekend. The Ospreys will be back in Nashville on Thursday, Nov. 17 to start the first round.
