JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - After dropping two conference matches over the weekend, North Florida volleyball looks to bounce back in a non-conference tilt against Bethune-Cookman on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at UNF Arena.
SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
Bethune-Cookman is coming off of a MEAC loss at Florida A&M on Friday, Sept. 30. Overall, the Wildcats have won just three matches with a 1-6 road mark.
- Alanda Handy leads the team with 129 kills.
- Phylecia Armstrong is the team's best hitter with a .328 attack percentage, while also leading at the net with 60 total blocks including 15 solo stuffs.
- Phalen Clark runs the offense with a team-best 256 assists, but J'nai Higgins helps out with 238 helpers.
- Normarie Rolon Soto is the libero with 182 digs, while Handy also gets time off the attack with 129 digs.
- The teams wins have come Tulane (3-2), Savannah State (3-0) and SC State (3-0).
QUICK HITS
- UNF owns a 20-1 record against the Wildcats All-Time with the lone loss coming in 2008 in Daytona Beach. The teams met earlier this year in the FIU Invite where UNF grabbed a 3-1 victory.
- UNF leads the league with 175 total blocks and 2.46 per set.

Gabby O'Connell is the ASUN's top freshman with 202 kills and is eighth overall in the ASUN with 2.85 per set.

Madilyn McCarty has moved up the ranks in the ASUN and is now seventh in assists with 396. The Springfield, Ill. native is dishing out 6.25 per game.
- Junior
Carinne Turner's 20 kill performance at Jacksonville was just the second 20-kill outings for the Ospreys this season.

North Florida is 6-3 on October 4 in its series history. UNF has won four of the wins in straight sets. However, the last time the Ospreys played on 10/4, they lost at Stetson.
RACKING UP AWARDS

Morgan Van Alstine and
Gabby O'Connell earning weekly awards last week, the team now matches their 2015 total for weekly honors. It was also the first time that UNF has ever had two players honored in the same week.
NATIONALLY KNOWN
Senior
Morgan Van Alstine now ranks 14th in the nation in total blocks with 77.0, while the team overall is 13th in the same category.
TOUGH WEEKEND
Against Lipscomb, for just the second time this season, UNF did not have a single player in double figure kill totals. It was also the first time that no one reached double-figures in digs.

North Florida heads to USC Upstate for a Friday conference match, while traveling to NJIT to play the Highlanders on Sunday.
