ELON, N.C. – The North Florida Women's Soccer team dropped a non-conference contest to Elon on the road this Friday.
Elon broke stalemate in the 84
th minute, getting the header goal off of a free kick inside the six-yard box that found the back of the net.
"Elon is a dangerous attacking team and I thought
Susie Ford was phenomenal for us tonight," said Head Coach
Robin Confer. "She came up with some big saves to give us a chance to get a result. We fought hard and were dangerous on set pieces, however we were a bit sloppy and need to be better in possession. "
The Ospreys two best chances came off set pieces as MacKenzie Meisler's header was flicked wide of the goal and
Jess Kinlaw had a point blank look at goal, but was whistled for a hand ball.
On the defensive front, junior
Susie Ford played a phenomenal game in the box, tallying eight saves on 28 shots faced. The eight saves ties a career high for Ford.
The Ospreys look to get back on track on Sunday when they head to High Point for a 2 p.m. match. The match will feature live stats and a live stream, with a full recap following on UNFOspreys.com.
