Box Score 2 CHARLESTON, S.C. – University of North Florida volleyball finished The Citadel Tournament with a pair of sweeps on Saturday in order to win the tournament and go a perfect 3-0 on the weekend at McAlsiter Field House. The Ospreys began the day with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-21, 25-17) win over The Citadel and then edged out UNC Asheville in a close 3-0 (26-24, 25-21, 25-20) triumph.
"I was happy with our composure during both matches," said Loeswick. "We were able to start both matches with crucial points. Carina had a great match this morning and Katarina did a great job this afternoon. Our setters also did a nice job distributing the ball."
The undefeated weekend marks the second-straight tournament in which the Ospreys have won. UNF was a perfect 3-0 at its own Courtyard Mayo Classic last weekend. Since then, UNF has won seven-straight matches, including a mid-week match at Florida A&M last Tuesday.
UNF's seven-straight victories ties its second-longest Division I winning streak, which was set Sept. 7-15, 2012 during head coach
Steve Loeswick's first season. The Ospreys' longest Division I winning streak is eight matches, which took place Oct. 26-Nov. 16, 2012.
UNF returns to action next Friday when the Ospreys start Atlantic Sun Conference play with cross-town rival Jacksonville in the River City Rumble. Match time is set for 7 p.m., at UNF Arena.
