Box Score (PDF)
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman (11-10) silenced the hot bats of North Florida (9-10) this evening with an 8-1 victory at Jackie Robinson Park. Wildcat starting pitcher Montana Durapau pitched a complete game and surrendered only one run to earn the victory.

Durapau tossed his second complete game of the season and posted his fifth quality start of 2014. The senior scattered six hits in nine innings while striking out three. The righty has recorded wins over Stetson, UCF, Miami and now North Florida this season . He and the Wildcats offense benefited from a season-high four errors by the Osprey defense.

After two scoreless innings by both teams, the Ospreys broke the tie on a sacrifice fly by Drew Weeks that scored Kyle Brooks in the top of the third. The RBI for Weeks was his team leading 12th of the season.

Bethune-Cookman took the lead for good in the bottom half of the inning, taking advantage of an Osprey error that plated two runs. The Wildcats added to their lead in their next turn at the plate scoring three more runs in the fourth. After the first two runners of the inning reached base, lead-off man Jake Welch scored on a throwing error to make the score 3-2. An RBI single by Zach Olszewski and a sacrifice fly by Eric Sams pushed the Bethune-Cookman advantage to 5-1.

The Ospreys surrendered three unearned runs in the bottom of the eighth to make the score 8-1. In all, the seven of the eight Bethune-Cookman runs were unearned in the contest.

Weeks extended his hitting streak to 27 games, tying the Division I school record held by former teammate Tyler Marincov. The school record is held by Kyle Caltrett, who hit safely in 29 straight games back in 2000. Weeks was 2-for-3 with an RBI, bumping his average to .447 on the season.

Sunday's hero, Corbin Olmstead is seeing the ball well and collected another two hits in tonight's game. He is hitting .324 and has 12 hits in eight games started this season.

Last week the Ospreys defeated the Wildcats, 12-7 at Harmon Stadium and still lead the all-time series 12-8. The rubber match between the two teams will take place April 15th in Jacksonville.

The Ospreys will return home tomorrow to take on Savannah State before continuing their Atlantic Sun schedule this weekend against Northern Kentucky. Right hander Bryan Baker (0-1) will get the start on the hill for the Ospreys and he will be opposed by righty, Austin Robinson (0-2).
