#MTEN Trounces No. 52 UNC Willmington, 5-2

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.—Jack Findel-Hawkins clinched the match for University of North Florida as the Ospreys, downed No. 52 UNC Wilmington 5-2 on Friday afternoon at the UNF Tennis Complex.

"Today was a result of a lot of hard work and matches that have gone the wrong way for us for this season," said Findel-Hawkins. "This is such a big win for us as we enter conference matches. We need to keep doing what we do as we head toward Atlantic Sun play."

In doubles, Findel-Hawkins and Norbert Nemcsek downed Rafael Aita and Sam Williams 8-5 at the No. 1 spot. At the No. 3 position, Zach Goldberg and Mark Hamill defeated Christiaan Van der Burgh and Santtu Leskinen 8-7 (7-4) as the Ospreys clinched the doubles point for the fourth match in a row and the ninth time this season.

The Ospreys started singles off quickly when Yannick Zuern won a 6-0, 6-4 match over Leskinen at the No. 4 spot to put the Ospreys up 2-0. UNCW won at No. 3 and No. 5 to tie up the match 2-2. Bernardo Craveiro put UNF 3-2 with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Zach Hublitz.

For the second match in a row, Findel-Hawkins clinched the match with a 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 upset of No. 53 Aita at the No. 1 position. Caio Gomes claimed the final point for the Ospreys as he beat Williams 4-6, 7-6 (7-5), 10-8 at No. 2 singles.

The Ospreys will face No. 75 College of Charleston on Sunday, March 16 at 2 p.m. at the UNF Tennis Complex.
