MACON, Ga. -- The North Florida Sand Volleyball team completed its Atlantic Sun Conference opening weekend with another sweep of matches against Florida Gulf Coast (4-1) and Mercer (5-0) on Saturday at the Mercer Sand Courts.
The Ospreys (8-1, 4-0 ASun) started defense of their conference championship strongly posting double wins against both the Eagles and Bears. UNF extended its win streak to seven matches.
UNF opened the day's action with a rematch versus FGCU claiming wins in four of five pairs. Top tandem

Anna Budinska earned a straight set decision over Holm/Masters while
Emily Strack/
Anna Wagner (No. 3),
Britt Claessens/
Julie Trembley (No. 4) and
Cameron McGuire/
Paige Pridgeon (No. 5) all posted sweep victories. The Eagles lone victory came at No. 2 where the Kohler/Muse tandem topped
Carolyn Jenkins and
Cari Whitmire in two sets.
In the team's second match against Mercer, the Ospreys earned the five pair sweep winning all of the pairings in straight sets.
UNF's pair of Claessens/Trembley maintained their perfect record and also remained undefeated in set play as well this season. Strack/Wagner also extended their win streak to six matches while Medina/Budinska have won their last five contests.
North Florida continues its Atlantic Sun schedule Wednesday (Apr. 3) with a doubleheader match at Stetson.
