GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- University of North Florida men's tennis won five single matches and two doubles matches during the opening day of the 2012 Bedford Cup at the Ring tennis Complex.
Senior
Moritz Buerchner, seeded seventh in the tournament, made quick work of Sean Bacha of Florida Atlantic, 6-2, 6-1. Fellow senior
Julien Belair also used straight sets to join him in tomorrow's second round, besting Wilfredo Gonzalez of Miami, 7-5, 6-1.

Pedro Davisson moved on with a victory over Florida A&M's Takura Happy, 7-5, 5-4 (W), while sophomore
Timo Kranz downed Henrique Tsukamoto of Miami, 6-3, 7-5. Senior
Leonardo Nahar bounced back from a tough opening set to take UNF's only three-set victory on the day, beating Gabriel Flores of Miami, 2-6, 6-2, 6-4.
On the doubles side, Buerchner and Belair led the way for the Ospreys, advancing to tomorrow's quarterfinals with wins over teams from Bethune-Cookman (8-2) and Miami (9-8(8-5)). Costa and Davisson fell to a pairing from USF, 8-3, while Nahar and Kranz lost an 8-4 match to a pairing from Florida State.
Tomorrow's singles matches, including the consolation bracket, will be in the morning, beginning at 9 a.m. Doubles matches will start at 4 p.m.
