Box Score JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – No. 75 University of North Florida men's tennis swept Atlantic Sun Conference foe, Kennesaw State, 7-0, winning all singles and doubles matches on Saturday afternoon at the UNF Tennis Complex in Jacksonville, Fla.
Securing the doubles point early the Ospreys (9-6, 4-1 A-Sun) won all three matches to claim the doubles point over the Owls (9-7, 3-3 A-Sun).
Moritz Buerchner and Beauregard Treyz teamed up in the No. 1 match to defeat KSU's Elliot Kahler and Simon Janik, 8-6.
In the No. 2 doubles match, Daniel Sotomarino and Hleb Maslau paired up for an 8-6 win over Gokalp Ozdemir and Gianni Kubin.
UNF's Leonardo Nahar and Pedro Davisson secured a win over the KSU tandem of Ryan Spencer and Michael Langel with a score of 9-7.
The Ospreys continued their winning ways into the single matches, winning five of the six in straight sets.
Maslau defeated Janik, 6-2, 6-2 in the No.1 singles while Buerchner downed Kubin, 6-2, 6-1 in the No. 2 match.
In the No. 3 singles match, Sotomarino secured a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Tyler Mills. Nahar battled to three sets in the No. 4 singles match against Kahler. The UNF player won the first set, 6-2, but fell in the second set, 6-4. In the tiebreaker Nahar rallied back for a 10-6 win.
Davisson dropped the KSU player, Ozdemir, 6-2, 7-5 in the No. 5 and Treyz claimed a 6-0, 7-5 win over Spencer in the No. 6.
UNF will return to action March 25-26 when the Ospreys travel to Nashville Tenn. to face Lipscomb and Belmont.
