RADFORD, Va. – The University of North Florida men's tennis team secured the doubles point early, but the Big South's Radford answered with five points in singles play to secure the match, 5-2 on Monday morning at the RU Tennis Courts in Radford, Va.

UNF (7-5) claimed wins in the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches over the Highlanders (11-3). Daniel Sotomarino and Hleb Maslau teamed up at the No. 2 for an 8-5 win over Igor Ogrizek and Stijn Meulemans. With the win, the UNF duo improves to 10-2 on the season.

In the No. 3, Leonardo Nahar and Pedro Davisson paired up to defeat Nicholas Sayer and Paul Boslet, 8-4. Nahar and Davisson improved to 4-2 on the season.

The Ospreys secured their second point in the match with a win at the No. 3 singles as Sotomarino defeated Joe Mills in a tough match. Mills took the first set 6-2, but Sotomarino came back to claim a 6-4 win in the second set. Sotomarino kept his momentum going as he took the tiebreaker, 10-6.

In the No. 2 singles, Maslau battled Sayer to three sets. Maslau took the opening set, 6-3, but Sayer came back in the second set for a 6-4 win. In the tiebreaker, Sayer held off Maslau for a 10-4 decision.

UNF will be back on the court on Wednesday, March 16, hosting Winthrop in a 2 p.m. match at UNF Tennis Complex.
