ORLANDO, Fla. – The University of North Florida men's tennis team picked up a road win on Sunday afternoon, defeating Conference USA foe, Central Florida, 5-2 at the UCF Tennis Complex in Orlando, Fla.

UNF (5-2) secured the doubles point early with wins at the No. 1 and 2. Sophomore Moritz Buerchner paired up with freshman Beauregard Treyz at No. 1 to defeat Blaze Schwartz and Joe Delinks, 8-5.

In the No. 2, senior Hleb Maslau and sophomore Daniel Sotomarino paired up to down Matthew Zachary and Eugene Dolgovykh, 8-6.

The Ospreys continued their run into singles play as Buerchner dropped Schwartz in straight sets 6-1, 6-4, at the No. 1. Maslau also picked up a point, winning in straight sets of over Leonel Vivas at the No. 3 with scores of 6-1, 6-3.

Davisson clinched the match for the Ospreys with a 6-2, 7-6 (6) win over Dolgovykh at the No. 6.

In the No. 5, Treyz picked up a point over fellow freshman Matthew Gladstone, who is currently ranked 14th in the southeast regional standings and was a four-star recruit coming into UCF after holding a national ranking of 95. Treyz dropped Gladstone in straight sets with scores of 6-4, 6-4.

UNF will return home for its next match, hosting Armstrong Atlantic on Tuesday, March 1 at 2 p.m.
