UNF Falls to No. 55 ETSU, 5-2

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – The University of North Florida men's tennis team fell to No. 55 East Tennessee State, 5-2 on Saturday, April 3 in Johnson City, Tenn. at the Buddy Hartsell Tennis Center.

UNF (15-7, 6-3 A-Sun) scored at the No. 2 and No. 5 singles matches.  Freshmen Daniel Sotomarino and Leonardo Nahar secured wins in their respective singles matches.

Sotomarino defeated Grega Teraz, 7-6, 7-6 (8-6) at No. 2. Nahar picked up the 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 5 over Jesus Bandres.

ETSU secured the doubles point early, winning all three matches. Senior Kurt Gattiker and freshman Taylor Albrecht fought hard at the No. 1 doubles before falling 9-8 (8-4) to Teraz and Charles Bottoni.

The Ospreys will be back on the court on Tuesday, April 6 when they host A-Sun crosstown rival Jacksonville. Match time is set for 2 p.m. at UNF Tennis Complex.
