FORT MYERS, Fla. – The University of North Florida men's tennis team blanked Florida Gulf Coast, 7-0 on Thursday afternoon in Atlantic Sun action at FGCU Tennis Complex. UNF improves to 8-3 overall and 1-0 in conference play.

UNF picked up two of the three doubles matches to take the point. Junior Hleb Maslau teamed up with freshman Daniel Sotomarino to defeat Sebastian Leitz and Carlo Checchia, 8-5 in the No. 2. In the No. 3 freshman Leonardo Nahar and senior Kurt Gattiker downed Gabriel Echeverry and Sergio Rebolledo, 8-5.

Freshman Moritz Buerchner dropped Thibaud Aime in a close three set match in the No. 1 with scores of 5-7, 6-4, 10-5. In the No. 2 freshman Taylor Albrecht picked up the 6-4, 6-2 win over Checchia.

Maslau also won his singles match with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Leitz in the No. 3. Sotomarino defeated Matthew Rock, 6-2, 6-0 in the No. 4 singles match.

In the No. 5 Nahar dropped Rebolledo, 7-6, 7-1 while Gattiker outlasted Mitchell Lvovsky, 6-3, 4-6, 10-8 in the No. 6 singles.

The Ospreys will travel to DeLand, Fla. on Saturday, March 6 for a 10 a.m. match against A-Sun opponent Stetson.
