
Ospreys Fall in Season Opener

The Ospreys fell 3-1 to tournament-host UCF on Friday night.
The Ospreys fell behind 1-0, but battled back to tie the score at 1-1 in the first half. With the score tied at one, UCF used two late goals to capture the match.
Calvin Lowe collected his first collegiate assist in the match. The redshirt freshman crossed the ball to Dinzey who headed the ball into the goal.
UCF was the first to score as Nik Robson scored on a free kick just outside the box at the 11-minute mark of the first half. The goal was Robson's first and saw the Ospreys on the wrong side of a 1-0 score.
UNF knotted the score at 1-1 as Dinzey scored the first goal of the season for the Ospreys. Lowe stole the ball outside of the box and crossed the ball in front of the goal. Dinzey connected with the header for his first goal of the season, tying the match at 1-1 at the 28-minute mark of the first half.
Neither team managed another goal in the first half and entered intermission tied at one goal apiece. In the first half, UNF took four shots compared to six by the tournament host. UCF was offside twice in the first half and committed 10 fouls compared to just six fouls by UNF. In the first stanza, the Ospreys recorded three saves while the Golden Knights had two.
UNF kept UCF out of the net for the first 35 minutes of the second half, but fell victim to two quick goals in the 80th and 81st minutes of the match. UCF's Chris Feigenbaum and Jeff Simmons both scored in the second half to give the hosts the victory.
