Box Score
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – It took just one gigantic inning at the plate for the University of North Florida baseball team to brush aside Campbell 9-2 on Monday.
UNF (18-13, 9-9 Atlantic Sun Conference) completed the series win over the Camels after the doubleheader was postponed on Saturday due to rain. Campbell claimed the second game of the series on Saturday 10-4 when conference rules declared the five inning game official.
Campbell (11-20, 6-12) kept the Ospreys silent until the bottom of the fifth when UNF scored eight runs. Sophomore T.J. Thompson's three-run home run to right center jump started the rally.
UNF loaded the bases later in the inning when senior
T.J. Gaudy was intentionally walked, which set the table for senior
Andy Warren, who crushed a three-run double down the right field line. Sophomore
Michael Gropper capped the onslaught with an RBI single to left center.
Senior
Travis Martin tacked on another run in the bottom of the sixth with a double down the right field line that allowed senior
Chad Knight to score.
Sophomore LHP
John Atteo (4-1) cruised to the complete game victory, allowing just four hits and one earned run for his third-straight win. Atteo faced just 30 batters.
UNF's six doubles were a season high. Sophomore
Andrew Hannon finished 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI double.
