MACON, Ga. – The University of North Florida women's tennis team made quick work of Mercer on Friday in a 6-1 win.
UNF improved its record to 10-10 overall and 7-2 in the Atlantic Sun Conference, which puts the team in a tie for third place. The Ospreys have now won three of their last four conference matches.
The Ospreys dominated in doubles, sweeping every match to pick up the point. Juniors
Natalia Sanchez and
Carolina Melo disposed of Mercer's Anna Wieslander and Priscillia Dias 8-4 in the No. 1 match.
In No. 2 doubles, senior

Ina Durcakova took down Mercer's Cali Sachs and Amalia Bugge 8-4. Junior

Victoria Krook wrapped things up for the Ospreys in the No. 3 match with an 8-6 win over Mercer's Karen Bellman and Kelly Blount.
UNF posted wins in No. 1-5 singles matches, led by
Natalia Sanchez's 6-0, 6-2, win over Wieslander in No. 1 singles.
Vanessa Sanchez didn't break much of a sweat in her No. 2 match, putting up a 6-0, 6-1, victory over Mercer's Irys Citko.
In the No. 3 singles match, Melihova recorded a 6-4, 6-2, victory against Dias. Durcakova was a victor in her No. 4 match, defeating Bellman, 6-2, 6-3. Krook was a straight-set winner in her No. 5 contest, beating Bugge, 6-3, 6-4.
UNF will return to action at 11 a.m. on Saturday against Kennesaw State in Kennesaw, Ga.
