NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The University of North Florida men's tennis team cruised past Atlantic Sun Conference foe Lipscomb 7-0 on Friday afternoon.
Against the Bison (6-4, 0-3 A-Sun), the match was never in doubt. After earning a hard-fought doubles point by sweeping all three matches, the Ospreys (8-6, 6-1 A-Sun) won all six singles matches in straight sets to win their fourth straight match and for the eighth time in 10 matches.
Matias Sigal (6-0, 6-0 at No. 1), Eduardo Pereira (6-1, 6-1 at No. 2), Javier Ferrin (6-3, 6-2 at No. 3), Elad Gabay (6-3, 6-4 at No. 4), Andres Monje (6-3, 6-4 at No. 5) and Yuiti Lopes (6-4, 6-1 at No. 6) all posted singles wins for the Ospreys.
UNF caps their Atlantic Sun Conference season on Saturday when they stay in the Music City to face Belmont. Match time is set for noon. A win by UNF would lock up at least a tie for second on the conference standings. First-place ETSU still has five conference matches remaining.
