JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - The University of North Florida men's tennis team had its recent hot streak halted on Sunday afternoon with a 7- 0 loss to 42nd-ranked East Tennessee State in Atlantic Sun Conference play.
The Ospreys (4-6, 3-1 A-Sun) had won four of their previous five matches before falling at ETSU (9-3, 3-0 A-Sun). The Bucs are the fourth ranked opponent to defeat UNF this season.
Not much went right for UNF on Sunday, with the Ospreys falling in three lopsided doubles matches and going in straight sets in all six singles matches. Matias Sigal at No. 1 singles, Eduardo Pereira at No. 2 singles and Javier Ferrin at No. 4 singles took sets to tiebreaks but were unable to come away with victories.
UNF returns to action on Monday at Gardner-Webb. Match time is set for 12:30 p.m.
