JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The North Florida women's tennis team continued its recent torrid streak on Saturday afternoon by upending Atlantic Sun Conference foe Mercer 7-0 at the UNF Tennis Complex.

The Lady Ospreys (8-5, 3-1 A-Sun) have now won six of their last seven matches and four straight overall.

UNF swept all three doubles matches against Mercer (3-3, 1-2 A-Sun), with the UNF tandem of Katja Brandt and Lauren Cockbill getting the only serious test at the No. 2 position in a 9-7 win over Mercer's Rachael Kerley and Lauriane Auvergne.

In singles play, all six matches were decided in straight sets, with Vanessa Sanchez (No. 1), Catalina Castillo (No. 2), Florencia Torres (No. 3), Brandt (No. 4), Cockbill (No. 5) and Robin Rogers (No. 6) earning wins for the Lady Ospreys.

"Everyone played solid," UNF head coach Igal Buberman said of his squad. "We got what we expected from everyone in the lineup. Everyone took care of business. The confidence level continues to rise with each match for our girls."

UNF will continue conference play on Sunday at the UNF Tennis Complex when it takes on fellow A-Sun newcomer Kennesaw State at 10 a.m.
