JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The North Florida men's tennis team braved the cold weather and biting winds at the UNF Tennis Complex on Sunday morning to post its second consecutive win - a 5-2 victory over Florida A&M.

The match was originally scheduled for Saturday afternoon but was postponed due to rain in the Jacksonville area.

Despite the frigid conditions on Sunday, the teams went toe-to-toe early on - splitting the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles matches before settling the doubles point with a tie-break at the No. 2 position. UNF's Jose Terrera and Matias Sigal held of FAMU's Jarrel Williams and Simbarashe Happy 9-8 (7-4) to put the Ospreys up 1-0.

In singles play, UNF (3-2) got victories from Eduardo Pereira (No. 1), German Escallon (No. 4), Matias Sigal (No. 2) and Leonardo Gomes (No. 6) to clinch the victory.

Frank Green and Artiom Podgaini earned the only points for FAMU (1-1) at the No. 3 and No. 5 positions, respectively.

"We played loose and looked like we were having fun, just like we did in (in UNF's 5-2 win over Georgia Southern last week)," UNF head coach Igal Buberman said, "The doubles teams are doing much better and playing very well together. We still have a long way to go, but we are definitely improving.

"In singles, I think some of the guys are finding their games and feeling more comfortable on the court. I feel good about that," Buberman said. "Our bottom guys had steady performances. We just need to keep playing relaxed and enjoy competing."

The Ospreys return to action on Saturday when they travel to DeLand, Fla., to face A-Sun foe Stetson at 4 p.m.
