Box Score

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Amy Stroder tallied 15 kills and hit .303, joining two other Lady Ospreys with double figures in kills, in leading the University of North Florida volleyball team past Gardner-Webb, 3-0, in an Atlantic Sun Conference match on Friday night at UNF Arena (30-20, 30-23, 30-21).

Allison O'Neill added 10 kills and five blocks and Maegan Wesiert had 10 kills and 10 digs for UNF (14-14, 5-1 A-Sun), which won its fourth consecutive home match. The Lady Ospreys hit .281 as a team with just 13 errors. Gardner-Webb (11-16, 3-4 A-Sun) hit just .098 with 26 errors.

"It was a good win," UNF head coach Bryan Bunn said. "Amy played well and we were strong with our serve all night. I was proud of our effort and energy throughout the match. It was a good all- around performance."

UNF never trailed in the opener, racing out to a 10-4 lead out of the gates and cruising to the finish from there. Stroder collected five kills in the first frame, while O'Neill, Weisert and Emily Kohler added three each.

Things didn't come as easy in game two. The teams battled through eight lead changes and four ties early on before UNF took the lead for good at 9-8 on a Runnin' Bulldogs error. That started an 8- 4 run by the Lady Ospreys that put them in control, and GWU could never get closer. O'Neill's six kills in game two led the way for UNF.

In game three, the teams battled back and forth again - exchanging seven leads and forging three ties - before UNF rallied to take control. A 6-2 run pushed the Lady Ospreys ahead 23-18, and the Bulldogs couldn't muster a comeback. Seven kills from Stroder in the game sealed the outcome.

Jenna Thomas paced the UNF attack with 39 assists. Libero Tara Taylor collected nine digs to move her within 74 digs of the school's all-time record with five matches to play.

Ashley Pridgeon led Gardner-Webb with 15 kills, while Audra Harrison added 10. The Bulldogs' setter, Regina Feagin, paced the GWU attack with 36 assists while also collecting 11 digs defensively.

UNF will cap its home season on Saturday at 3 p.m. against Campbell. The team's five seniors - Magen Wood, Kohler, Taylor, O'Neill and Thomas - will be honored prior to the match.
