Men's soccer season ends with first round PBC tournament loss

GREENWOOD, S.C. - Lander University put an end to the University of North Florida men's soccer season Tuesday, defeating the Ospreys 1-0 in the first round of the Peach Belt Conference tournament. The loss caps off a 5-9-1 overall season for UNF, as it complied a 2-3-1 conference record, earning a No. 5 seed in the tournament.
Lander, entering the match ranked no. 25 in the nation, received a goal from Carlos Lozano in the second minute, which proved to be the game winner. North Florida outshot the Bearcats 14-10, as LU goalkeeper Garrett Daum registered seven saves in the shutout. Cole Chancelor, starting his second game of the season in goal for the Ospreys, made five saves in the loss.
Lander improved to 11-2-2 and will face no. 1 seed, and conference champion UNC Pembroke, in the second round of the PBC Tournament.
