Box Score

MACON, Ga. - Three players tallied double figures in kills, led by Magen Wood's 15, to propel the University of North Florida volleyball team past Mercer 3-0 in an Atlantic Sun Conference match on Saturday night (31-29, 30- 27, 30-27).

Wood hit .393 and had three block assists to help finish its three-match road swing with a victory. The Lady Ospeys UNF (9-8, 2-1 A-Sun) hit .214 as a team with 55 kills and also got strong performances from the outside. Rightside hitter Emily Kohler finished with 13 kills and hit .308, while outside hitter Amy Stroder recorded 13 kills and hit .194. Kohler also had 12 digs.

Mercer (5-14, 0-4 A-Sun) had a strong attack as well, hitting .220 with only 18 errors, but allowed late leads to slip away in all three games.

The Bears led 27-24 in game one before kills by Stroder and Kelly Kazmierczak keyed UNF's comeback and a 31-29 win. In game two, the Bears led 20-16 but committed three of their six attack errors after that to allow UNF back into the match. UNF rallied with four straight points to move ahead 24-22, and never trailed again. In game three, the Bears led 27-23 but also couldn't hold it. A pair of kills by Kohler finished off the match victory for the Lady Ospreys.

Three UNF players finished with double figures in digs, led by Jenna Thomas' 16. Laura Harms had 10 kills and hit .471 to lead the Bears.

UNF will play host to cross-town rival Jacksonville on Wednesday at UNF Arena. Match time is set for 7 p.m.
