BOCA RATON, Fla. - North Florida's Emily Kohler finished with a double-double, tallying 13 kills and 16 digs, but it wasn't enough to help the Lady Ospreys overcome a strong performance by Florida Atlantic on Wednesday afternoon in a 3-1 loss to the Owls at FAU Gymnasium (30-17, 30-24, 20-30, 30-27).
Florida Atlantic (17-2) hit .263 for the match with 62 kills and only 18 errors, while UNF hit .148 with 29 errors. FAU also tallied 10 team blocks.
The Lady Ospreys (8-8) lost the first two games before rallying for a victory in game three. UNF hit .239 in that game, getting five kills from Kohler and four from Jennifer King to lead the way.
Three players finished with double figures in digs for UNF, led by Jenna Thomas' 20. Kelly Kazmierczak had 18 digs and four aces for UNF.
Justine Petry collected 21 kills and hit .429 for the Owls, who committed just four errors combined in the first two games. Kelly Paiva had 19 kills and and Katie Arvidson 14 for FAU.
UNF returns to action on Saturday with an Atlantic Sun Conference match at Mercer. Match time is set for 5 p.m.
