Hatters top Ospreys

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Atlantic Sun Conference rival Stetson scored a 4-0 win over the University of North Florida men's soccer team Sunday afternoon at UNF Soccer Stadium.

The loss marked the Ospreys (2-7-1, 2-2-0 A-Sun) second-straight conference loss after opening A-Sun play with back-to-back wins.

Stetson (7-10-0, 5-2-0 A-Sun) jumped out to a quick lead and never looked back. Stetson sophomore Tanner Wolfe notched the game-winning goal of a corner kick just 1:13 into the match. The goal was Wolfe's 13^th of the season.

The Hatters added their second goal of the match at the 14:07 mark of play when freshman Brian Bell tallied his second goal of the season. Wolfe gave the Hatters a 3-0 advantage just under two minutes later when he redirected a Kirk Labusch pass past a diving Michael Frost.

The Hatters closed out the scoring at the 60:02 mark of the match when senior Alex Minton headed a Wolfe pass just beyond the reach of Frost to give Stetson the 4-0 win. The goal was Minton's third of the season.

Stetson outshot the Ospreys 17-9, including an 8-6 advantage in shots on goal.

Junior goalkeeper Jeff Smeraglinolo recorded six saves to earn the win and improve to 7-9-0 on the season.

Frost tallied four saves for UNF and dropped to 2-7-1 on the season with the loss.

The Ospreys will be back in action on Tuesday when they play host to A-Sun rival Florida Atlantic. UNF's showdown with the Owls will mark the final home contest of the season for the Ospreys and is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. ET at UNF Soccer Stadium.
