• Founding member of the UNF Osprey Club, the Official Athletics Booster Organization
• Served two terms as President of the Osprey Club, 1984 and 1991
• Honorary UNF Athletics Letter Winner 1985
• The Dave Polovina Endowed Baseball Scholarship was established in his honor.
• Was instrumental in the development and construction of the UNF Tennis Complex and Harmon Stadium, the first athletic facilities on campus, as well as the Dusty Rhodes Batting Facility
• Helped establish The Doug Harmon and Dusty Rhodes Scholarships as well as contribution to numerous other athletic endowments
• Helped set the standard for excellence in UNF Athletics
