The University of North Florida houses a 2,800 Sq. Ft. weight room housed in the Rick Wilkins Family Center on the first floor of Hodges Stadium, where all 17-varsity sports train. The facility was completed in August 2008 and consists of state-of-the-art equipment with over 8,000lbs of weights, Power Racks, Platforms, Plate Loaded machines, Cable Columns, Dumbbells and more worth over $200,000. The weight room also has several accessory equipment such as different bar implements, tendo units, chains, bands, sleds, bungees, med balls, kettle bells, etc. all to aid in athletic performance. The facility was made possible through generous lead donations from longtime North Florida Athletics boosters John Hayt and Tony Weight. Hodges stadium is the home of both men’s and women’s soccer and track & field teams conveniently located by a practice field that is utilized by the strength and conditioning department.
