Khadijah Rushdan

Khadijah Rushdan enters her fifth season at North Florida after joining the women’s basketball staff in July 2018.

After the 2021-22 season, UNF saw its first-ever WNBA Draft Pick in Jazz Bond as she was selected as the 31st pick in the 2022 draft. The Dallas Wings received Bond via the Chicago Sky after putting up consecutive ASUN Defensive Player of the Year laurels. Rushdan worked with Bond during all four of the forward's years in Jacksonville. The year prior, Rushdan worked with the team's guards and saw Marissa Mackins named to the ASUN All-Conference first team, while Rhetta Moore earned ASUN Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors as well as an All-Tournament nod during the 2020-21 season. 
 
Rushdan spent the previous season the LaSalle University in Philadelphia, Pa. She worked with the guards at LaSalle, was responsible for the planning and execution of Scouting as well as Player Development. Rushdan developed Big 5 First Team Selection Amy Griffin and two-time Athlete and Rookie of the Week Shaq Edwards. In addition, she handled the team's administrative responsibilities. 

Prior to her stint with the Explorers, she was the assistant head coach at St. Elizabeth High School in Wilmington, Delaware for three seasons. She was also on the staff for the US Olympic Women’s Basketball U16 Trials in Colorado this spring.
 
Following a First Team All-Big East selection as a senior at Rutgers, Rushdan was selected 15th overall by the Los Angeles Sparks in 2012. She spent a season in the WNBA before playing for Maccabi Ramat Chen in Israel from 2012-13.
 
Rushdan played in more games (135) at Rutgers than any player in the program’s history. She is one of two players in program history to record a triple-double, and ranks 20th all-time in scoring with 1,288 points.

Prior to her collegiate days, Rushdan was a member of the 2006 USA U18 National Team that went 4-0 and won the gold medal at the 2006 FIBA Americas U18 Championship that qualified for for the FIBA U19 World Championship. She led the USA in assists avg. 6.0 apg, while adding a team third-best in points at 11.0 ppg and second best in steals at 3.0 ppg in 19 minutes a game.

She was a 2007 McDonald’s, Parade, and WBCA All-American as well as the 2007 Gatorade Player of the Year. Rushdan was a three-time Delaware State Player of the Year and she is the second all-time leading scorer in state history with 2,414 points. She was tabbed the Delaware Sports Hall of Fame in May of 2022.
 
Rushdan graduated from Rutgers in 2012 with a degree in Exercise Science and Sports Studies, and earned a master’s degree in Global Sports Business at her alma mater in 2018.
