Jacob Weinshank joined the North Florida men's soccer staff as a volunteer coach in Summer 2018, while also serving as a staff coach at Jacksonville Armada FC. Weinshank was promoted to assistant coach at North Florida in the Spring of 2019.
Since being promoted to assistant coach, Weinshank has helped in producing a top-25 victory on the road, as well as the ASUN's top goals-against average in back-to-back seasons. He also saw Cormac Begley and Jovoney Brown earn All-ASUN second team honors in spring 2021, as well as Joaquin Acuña take ASUN All-Freshman honors in fall 2021 and LJ Estes takes ASUN First-Team and All-Academic honors in 2022.
In Janurary of 2023, Weinshank was selected as the Most Valuable Coach at the EXACT Soccer National Showcase Camps as tabbed by aspiring collegiate student-athletes attending the camps throughout the fall and winter season. Athletes attending the camps rated their collegiate instructions, with Weinshank achieving the highest mark.
Weinshank comes to UNF after serving as a college assistant men's soccer coach at Maine Maritime Academy in 2017-18. He also worked as Head Coach and Assistant Director at Seacoast United Maine. Additionally, Weinshank was the Head Coach of the University of Maine Men's Club Soccer team (2016-17) and the Director of the Soccer Program for Camp Skylemar in Naples, Maine from 2013-15.
A 2015 graduate of Salve Regina University with a bachelor's degree in sociology and anthropology, Weinshank was a four-year starter on the men's soccer team. Weinshank’s brace in the 2012 conference final helped lead Salve Regina to the 2012 NCAA DIII Tournament and earned him the Offensive Player of the Tournament in the 2012 Commonwealth Coast Conference playoffs. He garnered the Commonwealth Coast Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year award (2014) and was selected a NSCAA All-East Region Scholar.
Weinshank graduated with a Master’s degree from the University of Maine in 2017. He holds United States Soccer Federation National C License.
