JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida women's basketball officially announces its 15-player roster heading into the 2025-26 season, as announced by head coach
Erika Lambert on Wednesday afternoon.
The incoming Osprey squad will consist of 11 newcomers made up of six transfers and five freshmen, as well as four returning players from last season. Seven UNF players heading into next season reside from the Sunshine State, along with a pair of international student-athletes and another duo from the West Coast.
Alexa Washington,
Jamisyn Stinson,
Nicole Carreno and
Jadah Toombs highlight the returning players for the Ospreys. Washington, who was an ASUN All-Freshman selection in 2023-24, is the longest tenured on the team entering her third season after redshirting last year due to injury.
The 2025-26 Ospreys will be led by Lambert, who will be assisted by associate head coach Stacey Ungashick Lobdell and assistant coaches
Gadiva Hubbard,
Chris Dixon and
Jayla Adams. Lambert will be entering her third season at the helm, while Hubbard and Dixon return for their second seasons along with Ungashick Lobdell and Adams joining for their first seasons.
"When I took over this program, I knew the building project we had ahead of us. I knew the first two seasons would be extremely challenging, but I committed to a plan and a vision for sustainable success," said Lambert on the 2025-26 Osprey squad. "Going into our third season, I am so excited about the roster we've built. This group just has a different mentality. These players are record breakers, leading scorers, state champions, and national tournament competitors. They are relentless in their pursuit of success and won't back down from a challenge."
"Each of our new additions was drawn to the opportunity to make a major impact here, in our incredible UNF community on a beautiful campus in the beach-side city of Jacksonville," Lambert continued on the incoming signing class. "Osprey fans are going to want to get to know this group. In addition to being talented basketball players, these young ladies have a lot of personality and are so much fun to be around!"
Get to Know the 2025-26 Ospreys
#0 Jamison Cardwell | Guard / Forward | 5-10 | Freshman | Gainesville, Fla. / Gainesville HS
Jamison Cardwell comes into her first collegiate season with the Ospreys as the No. 29 overall player from the state of Florida in the 2025 class. She led Gainesville HS with 16.2 PPG and 5.7 RPG on her way to the school's first Final Four appearance since 1987 and an appearance in the 5A state championship game. She was an All-Area First Team selection and was voted top three in the FHSAA 5A Player of the Year award.
"Jamison's greatest assets are her versatility, her IQ and her will to win. Every time this kid steps on the floor, she will do whatever it takes for her team to be successful. She'll add a shooting threat on the wing for us and also the ability to mix things up inside. Jamison was the leader of her Gainesville High School team that made some major noise in a State Tournament run this year."

#1 Jamisyn Stinson | Guard | 5-11 | Sophomore | Thornville, Ohio / Sheridan HS
Jamisyn Stinson returns for her second season with the Ospreys after being one of the most efficient freshmen sharpshooters in the ASUN during the 2024-25 season. She totaled 7.8 PPG going 33.3% (62-for-186) competing in all 31 games with 11 starts. She comes back to UNF with the most returning minutes from last year with 657 combined for 21.1 MPG. Her career-high in points and three-pointers came in her first home game against Trinity Baptist with 22 points and six made from range.
"Jamisyn is so fun to coach! Everyone in the league knows she's a sniper. She's also a really smart player who makes the right plays on offense and uses her length to get steals and deflections on defense. J keeps our opponents honest because she's a shooting threat from everywhere on the perimeter. Her sophomore campaign will be an exciting one."

#2 Claire Davis | Forward | 6-1 | Senior | Atlanta, Ga. / Kennesaw State
Claire Davis joins the Ospreys as a senior after spending a season each at Kennesaw State and Palm Beach Atlantic. She played in 16 games for KSU in 2024-25 totaling 19 points, where she set season-highs against Middle Tennessee and Louisiana Tech. In her two seasons at PBA, she started a combined 12 of 42 games played averaging over 8.0 PPG in both seasons. In 2023-24, she nearly put up double-digit points per game adding 4.7 RPG, scoring double figures on eight occasions. She reunites with Karyzma Pierre, who was her former teammate at PBA as a sophomore during the 2023-24 season.
"The four position is a really important part of our offense and Claire is the right woman for the job. She can flat out shoot the rock. She has a guard-like skill set but the length to defend post players and mix it up around the rim. Claire's one of those players who simply loves the game, loves being in the gym and loves their teammates. As a bonus, Claire lights up every room she walks into. I'm really glad she chose to play her senior year at UNF."

#3 Soraya Ogaldez | Guard | 5-8 | Freshman | Lacey, Wash. / North Thurston HS
Soraya Ogaldez enters her first collegiate season with the Ospreys as the No. 11 overall player from the state of Washington in the 2025 class. She led North Thurston HS to a Final Four appearance in the Washington 3A state tournament and scored over 2,000 points in her high school career. In her senior season, she averaged an outstanding 22.5 PPG, 3.7 APG, 4.0 SPG and 3.5 RPG, along with a 46% clip from the field.
"Soraya is a dynamic talent. She's a playmaker with the ball on a string. You don't see many players with handles like Soraya's and that's a testament to all the time she's spent in the gym. She has a score-first mentality but also sees the floor well to create for teammates. Soraya led her North Thurston team to a very exciting run in the State Tournament!"

#4 Alonya Waldon | Guard | 5-5 | Junior | Melbourne, Fla. / Samford
Alonya Waldon transfers to the Ospreys as a junior after spending two seasons at Samford. She played in 25 games and started in 14 of those contests during the 2024-25 season. She doubled her scoring between her freshman and sophomore seasons going from 3.5 PPG to 6.7 PPG. She shot nearly 30% (17-for-58) from three-point range this past season. She also set a career-high of 19 points against Stephen F. Austin at UNF's Thanksgiving MTE played at UNF Arena.
"Alonya is a dynamic point guard who plays with a lot of confidence. She is so fast in transition and challenges the defense to keep up. Beating people off the bounce is her specialty, either for a layup or a dish to her teammate, but Alonya has also worked hard to extend her range and become a consistent three-point threat. She's a menace on defense too! During the recruiting process, Alonya's skills got my attention but what really sold me was her character. She's a rare breed."

#8 Megan Verbeeten | Guard | 5-9 | Freshman | Crawley, England / The Holy Trinity Church of England Secondary School
Megan Verbeeten enters her first collegiate season with the Ospreys as an international product from England in the 2025 class. She was recently named EABL Girls South First Team this past season, where she played in 18 games while average 30 MPG and 16.8 PPG.
"I am thrilled to add a highly skilled international guard to our roster. Meg is a workhorse. She's played on a global stage with the GB national program and has risen to national prominence in England. She has competed against older, more experienced players in the NBL1 league and I believe that will smooth her transition to the NCAA ranks. Megan can play the 1-3 positions as a shooter, driver, ball handler and defender."
-- head coach Erika Lambert
#12 Jadah Toombs | Guard | 5-6 | Sophomore | Immokalee, Fla. / Evangelical Christian School
Jadah Toombs enters her second season on the Ospreys roster heading into 2025-26. She made one appearance last season against Bellarmine making her only attempt from three-point distance, along with a steal, in seven minutes played.
"Jadah walked on to our team last year when we had too many players on the injured list to run a full practice. It takes guts to do what she did to jump right in mid-year. Jadah is a wonderful young lady with a strong work ethic who embodies our program's core values of humility and selflessness."

She joins Megan Verbeeten as one of two international players on this year's squad reigning from Argentina.
"Georgi is going to be a favorite among our Osprey fans! She's a skilled, high-motor forward with an international flare who plays really tough inside and can also knock down the three-ball. She has represented her country on a global stage playing for the Argentina national team and also advanced against top competition in the JUCO national tournament with Florida Southwestern. Georgi brings work ethic, maturity and experience that will instantly make her a leader to this squad."

"It is a pleasure to have Alexa back on the court with us after ACL recovery. She had a breakout freshman year two seasons ago and I'm confident she'll return to play this season in full force. Having her back instantly boosts our offense. In addition to Lex's three-point prowess, she brings so much value to our squad with her maturity, vocal leadership and high basketball IQ."
-- head coach Erika Lambert
#23 Elle Blatchford | Guard | 5-10 | Junior | Canton, Ga. / Gardner-Webb
Elle Blatchford transfers to the Ospreys as a junior after spending a season each at Gardner-Webb and Southern Miss. In 2024-25, she played in 23 games and started 16 of those games, while averaging 29.5 MPG for Gardner-Webb. She shot a team-high from three-point range at 38% (51/135) on top of averaging 12 PPG, which ranked second on team, 3.7 RPG and 1.4 SPG. Prior to Gardner-Webb, she spent her freshman year at Southern Miss, where she saw action in 22 games averaging 11.7 MPG.
"Elle is such a great get for us. She was highly sought after in the transfer portal and for good reason. Elle's a big guard who plays with so much passion and toughness. At UNF, we love a guard who always catches the ball ready to shoot! She's a sniper from three but also a crafty driver, a strong finisher at the rim and an aggressive defender. The game comes so naturally to Elle and I'm thrilled that she'll be suiting up in the Blue & Gray!"

She also recorded 6.1 PPG as a freshman starting in 21 of 28 games played in her debut collegiate season, where she was teammates with Claire Davis.
"She goes by 'Ryz,' which is fitting because of her name but also because of her style. Ryz's game is so smooth! At the Division II level, she played just about every position and that versatility will be a great asset for us. Ryz can put the ball on the floor very effectively and elevates over people to finish in the paint. She'll be part of the rebounding party every night as well. What I love most about Ryz is her hunger to work and get better. She's a competitor."
-- head coach Erika Lambert
#30 Dezuray McGill | Forward | 6-1 | Freshman | Plantation, Fla. / American Heritage School
Dezuray McGill comes into her first collegiate season with the Ospreys as the No. 34 overall player from the state of Florida in the 2025 class. In her senior season, she averaged 13.5 PPG and 5.4 RPG, while shooting 55% from the field, 31% from three-point range and 76% from the free throw line.
"Every team Dez has played on has contended for a state championship. She comes from a winning program at American Heritage where she grew into a force to be reckoned with. Dezuray is one of those kids who will shut the gym down every night of the week. She'll be a versatile forward for us who can play inside and out on both ends of the floor. And she's a beast on the boards!"
-- head coach Erika Lambert
#34 Jordan Brooks | Center | 6-3 | Graduate Transfer | Victorville, Calif. / Minnesota
Jordan Brooks joins the Ospreys as a graduate transfer after spending one season at Minnesota, one season at CSU Bakersfield and two seasons at Victory Valley College. She averaged 21.5 PPG and 9.7 RPG with 49 blocks and 32 steals in 22 games during the 2022-23 season.
"JB was the final piece we needed to complete our roster. Everybody wants size so of course I'm happy to add 6'3" to our roster. More than that, in my conversations with Jordan she expressed such a strong desire to compete and play and maximize her fifth year of eligibility. We need that hunger in our program. Jordan put up big numbers at the junior college level and then dealt with injury and a coaching change that impacted her journey. The fact that Jordan played for a very high-level, championship-winning squad last year was a big draw for me. She has more left in the tank and we're glad she's joining us in Jacksonville."

Nicki's entering her second season at UNF armed not only with an elite shooting ability but also with a year of experience and growth under her belt. She made clutch plays last year and will continue to expand her role with more consistency."
