JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Florida baseball fell to West Georgia, 11-5, in the series finale at Harmon Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
West Georgia scored a run in the first and added a pair in the third inning to secure an early 3-0 lead. The Wolves posted three runs in the fifth and five in the sixth inning to extend their lead to 11-0.
Senior
Jabin Bates sent a two-run shot over the right-field wall to make the score 11-2. Junior
Aaron Potter tossed a 1-2-3 seventh inning to keep the score locked.
North Florida loaded the bases on a pair of walks and a base hit from senior
Cade Bush in the bottom of the seventh. In the next at bat, Bates drew a bases-loaded walk to plate the Ospreys' third run of the afternoon.
Senior
Drew Leinenbach found a gap to add two more runs and trim the margin to 11-5, but the Ospreys couldn't complete the late comeback.
