JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Florida baseball fell to Bethune-Cookman, 14-3, in a midweek matchup at Harmon Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Bethune-Cookman opened the game with three runs in the top of the first inning. North Florida responded with a pair of runs on a two-out rally in the bottom of the first.
Sophomore
Mitchell Collins tallied the Ospreys' first hit with a single back up the middle to start the scoring run. Collins advanced to third on a fielding error and then proceeded to come home on a wild pitch. Redshirt freshman
Carter White delivered an RBI single to center to trim the margin to 3-2.
Bethune Cookman proceeded to post eight runs over the first six innings to command a 10-2 lead. Redshirt junior right-hander
John Costa made his Osprey debut in the fourth inning.
Freshman
Ty Velardo crushed a solo shot to right field in the bottom of the sixth inning to plate the Ospreys' final run of the night. Bethune-Cookman added four runs over the seventh and eighth inning to reach the final margin.
