Women's Tennis Snags First Victory Against UAB

Box Score AUBURN, Ala. - North Florida women's tennis earned its initial win of the 2025 spring season on Saturday when it defeated UAB, 4-3, in a neutral site match at Yarbrough Tennis Center in Auburn, Ala. 
 
North Florida clinched the doubles points with wins at the top two positions from the pairs of junior Laurie Barendse and redshirt junior Anslee Long and freshman Nicole Alfaro Solis and redshirt junior Isabel Oliveria. Bardense and Long first secured court two 6-1, while Alfaro Solis and Oliveira clinched the doubles point with a 7-6 win on court one. 
 
The Ospreys took that momentum into singles action with wins on court three, five and six. North Florida's initial two wins in singles action came in straight sets. Freshman Aryana Bartlett won court three, 6-3, 7-5, while Long claimed court five, 6-3, 7-6. UNF secured the match win when freshman Gabby Goyins took court six, 6-2, 2-6, 6-2.
