TAMPA, Fla. - Despite 33 tie scores and 12 lead changes, North Florida (3-6) was clipped in a trio of tightly contested sets at USF (4-3) Thursday, Sept. 12 in the opener at the South Florida Invitational.

Inside the Sets
- Set 1: North Florida hit .300 and Anna Butler had six kills, helping UNF to a 20-18 lead, but the Bulls rallied with a 5-0 run as they took the first set, 25-22.
- Set 2: UNF took control early and midway through the set, but another 5-0 USF run late helped the Bulls pull ahead and stay ahead.
- Set 3: North Florida pulled ahead to an 11-8 lead, forcing a USF timeout with a 4-0 run … South Florida pulled ahead to a 22-20 advantage, but UNF tallied a 3-0 spurt to take a late lead … the Bulls were able to gather themselves and go on a 3-0 run to close out the contest.
