JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Tony Roca fired a complete-game shutout, as North Florida (19-22, 9-12 ASUN) salvaged the finale and beat Stetson (28-16, 14-7 ASUN), 2-0, on Sunday afternoon at Harmon Stadium.
The senior wrapped up his most stellar performance as an Osprey with a quick ninth to secure a complete game and Sunday victory. The lefty allowed just four hits, while striking out seven on 135 total pitches thrown. It is the third straight season an Osprey has thrown a complete game and is the first complete game shutout since
Peter Holden against Kennesaw State in 2022.
UNF scored first in the fourth inning after
Cade Bush snapped his home run drought with a solo homer over the batting facility giving the Ospreys a 1-0 lead. They then extended their lead in the eighth inning with Jakon Runnels cracking his team-leading ninth bomb of the season, which gave the Ospreys insurance to secure the series finale win.
