JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - In two defensive games highlighted by outstanding pitching performances, North Florida softball (26-13, 10-3 ASUN) split its doubleheader on senior day against Florida Gulf Coast (27-15, 9-4) on Saturday afternoon at UNF Softball Complex.
The Ospreys had a back-and-forth battle of runs against FGCU in the first game, but ultimately fell in the end by a run. In the rematch against the Eagles,
Halle Arends picked up the UNF offense with seven scoreless innings, along with the game-winning run scored off an error by
Marley Nagy, to secure the 1-0 win.

Allison Benning had stellar numbers from the plate and in the circle, but a three-run comeback inning in the fifth for the Eagles pushed them to a 4-3 win to open the series.
