JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida men's basketball (15-14, 8-6) were unable to hold on to its halftime lead on the other side of town, as they dropped its road finale against Jacksonville (14-14, 5-9), 62-50, in the River City Rumble on Friday evening.
The Ospreys were held to 50 total points against the Dolphins after scoring 25 points in each half.
Jah Nze led UNF with 17 points, while
Chaz Lanier added another 13 points in 38 minutes played.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
First Half
Jasai Miles shot a long three to start and drained it from distance to get the first points of the game for the Ospreys...back-to-back treys were made by
Dorian James and Lanier to expand the lead to six points early...Nze threw a lob to Lanier from just inside half court, followed by a three from Nze, to go up by nine points...the sophomore made another three to keep the lead at double digits...Miles kept the Dolphins at ease with another three to stay up top...free throws from Nze ended the first half with UNF holding a two-point lead.
Second Half
After technical free throws were made by Lanier, Miles scored again to open up the half with a driving layup...Nze matched the score to give UNF the lead back after being tied at 29 a piece...
Jaylen Smith stopped a scoring run from the Dolphins, followed by Lanier free throws, with just under 10 minutes left...UNF went on a 7-0 run highlighted by another Nze three to pull it back within single digits...Lanier and Lliteras both scored in the final five minutes, but it wasn't enough to pull off the second-half comeback on the road.

- After minimal time played before last weekend, Nze has now scored over 16 points in two of his last three games.
- This was the first time all season that Chaz Lanier has been held to less than 14 points in conference play.
- It's also the first time since Feb. 23, 2022, that UNF has scored 50 points or less in an ASUN game.
- Only the fourth loss to Jacksonville in the last 12 matchups between the two teams.
