STATESBORO, Ga. - On a historic night for Georgia Southern's brand new Hill Convocation Center, North Florida men's basketball (6-4) nearly completed a historic comeback, erasing a 17-point second half deficit before coming up two points short in overtime to the Eagles (6-4) Saturday, Dec. 7.
Jasai Miles erupted for a career performance, scoring 30 points while grabbing 11 boards in the 93-91 decision.
Jaylen Smith also went for a career evening with 10 points and 10 assists.

1st Half
- Georgia Southern took a 6-0 lead to start the game until Nate Lliteras got to the line to put UNF on the board … UNF cut the lead to 8-7, but the Eagles hit a pair of three-pointers to bring their lead to seven … GSU widened its lead to 22-10 with an 8-3 run … Jasai Miles made a lay-up and drained a three-pointer to help bring UNF within six points … Liam Murphy would dial up a trey and cut the deficit to 29-24 with three minutes to go … Miles, Oriol and Harris would score again, but Georgia Southern held a 36-31 lead at the break.
2nd Half
- Miles poured in five quick points and Harris drained a three-pointer to make it a two-point ball-game, but Georgia Southern replied to widen its lead to ten at 59-49 with 11:41 to go … the Eagles would go on a 12-4 run and take a 71-55 lead at the under-eight media timeout … with backs against the wall, UNF rattled off a 10-0 run and got within 74-73 with 3:09 to go … UNF got within one on two different occasions, but Georgia Southern held the lead each time … down one with 12 seconds to go, UNF gathered a missed free throw and Miles scored the go-ahead layup with six seconds left, giving UNF an 83-82 lead … it was UNF's first lead of the entire night … Georgia Southern was able to draw a foul with 0.7 seconds left and hit one of two free throws to send the game into overtime.
Overtime
- Lliteras scored the first bucket of overtime and Murphy drained a three-pointer as UNF had a four-point lead at the 3:51 mark, UNF's largest of the game … Georgia Southern converted a three-point play and went on a 5-1 run to tie things at 89-89 … Smith got to the glass for a bucket to give UNF a 91-91 lead, but the Eagles would score two more field goals and UNF missed the potential game-winning shot.
